Early birthday evening
My birthday is actually today but I guess you can say I officially had my fun last night. My older son and I went to the Padres/ Cubs game like we have pretty much every night this year while there was a game in town.
After sitting down early my boy was approached by a staff member and asked to be the game ball delivery boy. Of course he said yes and he even got an up close viewof all the Cubs in the dugout, even Jake Arietta, who recently signed an All-star game ball for him during the ASG. That was the highlight of the day for my boy until the game started. We were approached by a manager in the front office and he asked my son if there was anything else he could do to make his day better and my little, just turned 9 year old goes "You know, all my life I've wanted to sit in the Lexus Club area.....( premium seating area behind home plate)". Without hesitation he says ok, follow me. Before we know it, there we were, behind home plate in the second row. I don't know if I was more shocked that my boy asked for it or that they let us move there but either way he was happier than any day he's gone to Disneyland. I'm pretty sure he went to the buffet 15 times and literally tried everything except the jicama cup and chili dip. Not a bad day at all:) |

Happy Birthday!
I was just wondering if your son was picked at random or if you had signed up for a chance at such VIP treatment. Either way, that will be a memory to last a lifetime and passed down to future generations.

It was random for the ball delivery. The other part was mainly just being there so much and getting to know everyone that works there. Spending a ton of money may have helped but I'll never know for sure.
