Watch out for a STOLEN Lange 1 moon phase

Not mine but nevertheless a sad story.
The owner of this watch bought it some time ago at my AD in Brussels. It was a grail watch for that person.
He had other watches but a Lange was something he wanted for many years and after saving a long, long time he finally bought one
Only 3 days later he was robbed in Barcelona and they took the watch of his wrist
Spanish police is informed and probably the Belgian police too.
Anyway, if somebody sees this watch for sale you can always contact me, I'll inform the owner and/or my AD

Thanks for helping ... try to imagine you finally got your grail watch after saving many years and only 3 days later it became a nightmare

Forgive my confusion but why were the Italian police notified and not the Spanish?

Thats really terrible. How was he robed? Maybe other people can learn from his mistakes. I will keep an eye for the watch.

Sad to hear it. I hope for an happy ending.

If you have posted this somewhere else, I would suggest you to write the information regarding the watch as text rather than with an image. This way it can be found through a search engine search.

Lange 1 Ref 109.032 Moon Phase
Serial Number 225892

Very unfortunate; watches need to be insured!! I did not insure my old 114300 but I did my DJ II dark rhodium.

Did he ventured into an unsafe area in the city? Barcelona is unfortnarely famous for petty crime like pickpockets but I was told violent crime is rare. Was there in July and felt quite safe but I stick to the more touristy areas.

for sure
there is an article in a newspaper but in Dutch so I won't post it here
He was in a restaurant and he had the feeling the waiter stared VERY long at his wrist ( that could be coincidence ), anyway when he and some friends left the restaurant they were followed by some guys

In a crowd street they attacked him and stole his watch

one of his friends wore a Rolex, they went for the Lange so they knew what they were looking for

It took less than 10 seconds

This is scary because it could happen to anyone. Can you post the article? He was attacked in a crowded street?

This is terrible but in nice restaurants and hotels waiters and staff can often scout out potential marks. I remember seeing a film about the staff at a hotel who then alerted their robbing partners to the fact that the guest's house was now empty.

I hope the local police were told about the waiter. Maybe there's a pattern of people getting robbed after leaving that restaurant.

Yeah maybe time to send someone else into the restaurant with a day date and set up a sting operation.
