Really Kinda Sad Right Now......Let Some Nice One's Go......But No Watch in Return
Guys, I'm a little gutted right now. Some of you may know that I have been selling-off SEVERAL really nice watches. What you may or may not know is that I have been saving since January 1st for the Platinum Daytona with a diamond dial. I have done really well keeping my urges in check, and I haven't gotten sidetracked at all this year with other watches.
Well, this last week I was approached by a surgeon friend of mine that offered to have me included in a business venture that involves capitol for real estate, and capitol needed for a medical business startup. I had to invest $100,000......so there goes my new Platinum Daytona. A really great rate of return is expected, so it really was a great opportunity. However, it is not nearly as fun as a Platona. So, not only do I NOT get the Platona, but I also lost some really great watches......Ultimately, I should benefit from this move (as well as my family), but I can't help but be a little sad at the same time. Did I make the right decision?? The one I wanted: The ones that I let-go....... A-serial SD 16600 BLNR Black Bay DSSD Pelagos

Long term you definitely made the right call. It'll be even more fun when you finally get your Platona.

I dunno.....I have all the watches I want except the 116506 so I'm saving for that as well....but I on the other hand don't really want to sell my collection just to obtain it (could be easily done)....I think you have to ask yourself do you prefer a rotation or are you a 1-2 watch guy? In terms of where you spent your money, sounds like you made the right move for sure.....only dump spare income that you don't sitting on stuff like watches....they're not investments obviously of any kind. Your time will come!

Right call assuming you did your due diligence, which I am sure you did handing over 100 large.
I predict you will be able to buy your daytona with the fruits of this investment some day |

You know you did the right thing Jason. You wouldn't have done it otherwise. Congratulations and best wishes on you new venture! Besides those Daytonas wear on the small size. I'm sure there's one in your future.

I still have PLENTY.......but I really wanted the Platinum Daytona.
2-166160LVs 2-1680 Red Subs 2-16800s 1680 white 2-1665s WG Blue Sub (Smurf) WG Daytona on a Strap 2-16600 SDs 16700BLRO 16710 Coke 16610 16570 116264 White TOG 14060M 5513 116400 White Milgauss 16660 And 3 vintage Tudor Subs............ I could whittle away at the above and still get it, but I started by selling the ones that were easily replaced and anything larger than 40mm

I imagine the ROI is very good and probable as you were planning on spending these funds on the Platona and not an investment. Hope it works out for you.

If you get ROI it is good but that's not always a given, especially in start ups when I hear "great ROI" I run because really as an angel you're looking for a multiple of your money usually 5x or 10x. If you don't have that possibility then the risks often outweigh the rewards. I really don't understand this particular deal or the exit strategy but "great ROI" raises red flags.

With what you have left to wear.....until you get your Platona....id never sweat a great investment. If you've got the patience not to chop down your current collection to buy the platona, just enjoy what you have. This coming from a person with the patience of a gnat...lol ! Good luck with your new venture:)

I'm sure it will be worth the wait, and you do have an amazing collection to help pass the days/months until it's on your wrist.

I think you definitely made a mistake because now you have nothing to wear. LOL.
You'll reap the rewards from your business venture soon enough and will have that platona on your wrist sooner than later! IG - @kakashi_gram |
