Happy that this piece doesn t sing to me ,i used to pay premium on 116520 in 2007 when the list was so long thought it was just 500bucks extra.

If someone thinks it's too high, then they shouldn't buy it. Someone else will though.

Yup. 6k to avoid a line seems excessive, but having the option is a beautiful thing, in my opinion.

I got offered $18k in credit for my 116500 for a gold Daytona. Almost pulled the trigger but side by side, there is something about the watch...

Would you feel comfortable buying from Bob (ignoring if you think Bob sells at too much of a premium)? I only ask because I am eyeing a 16710 from him and curious as to what other TRF members thought about Bob.

I bought about 5 watches from bobs. All came pretty much the next day except one maybe. I returned two one for cash one for credit and sold one back to them. They also serviced my 18078 (day not switching at midnight but around 3) within warranty period with a very quick turn around and personal service, watch came back working great. Highly reccomended. Very slight premium to pay for trust.

He has been around a long time and has a return policy.
You might pay a little more but you won't be purchasing a knock off.
Have the watch checked out during your 3 day period and if it doesn't meet your expectations, send it back.

The premium for Bob's and some of the really good trusted sellers are worth the piece of mind. IMO

Right now? Not a bit excessive. He probably paid $15k or more to get it, if he doesn't sell it he will drop the price but it will move. I don't believe I want one that bad though.

Here in the UK they were being sold at £16k, which is just short of $21k.

Silly money

Patience is a virtue if your impatient then pay their cost. Me i won't pay for premium. The saddest part is when you pay a high cost premium and after a week the excitement is gone.

Rolex can combat this secondary market if they would just increase their production. Instead they try to manipulate the ADs to discourage buyers flipping these watches. At some point there will be enough supply and these watches will be worth MSRP at most. But those buying now don't seem to be worried about that loss. That is a lot to me and most buyers.

nailed it, bob's has been gouging for years. don't blame them though if people come to them.

The only thing you can do is remember who tried to screw you when they had the opportunity next time you buy a watch.

Well, I have gathered the impression that "trusted TRF sellers" tend to command high prices for their goods. High prices when compared to other reputable Internet merchants, and even some ADs.

It's all to do with timing. Early days and there are people out there who want to have the latest thing and the hike in premium is small change. But over the next few years demand will decrease as it will no longer be the new watch on the block. Premiums will no doubt fall accordingly.

Don't know if anyone will pay that much for it. But i can see people paying 15.5-16k for it. I personally would not. Hopefully the hype goes down little with people getting sick of waiting and the market looses up.
