Tudor Snowflake

Hi everyone,

I finally bought my dream watch: the Tudor Snowflake. I would appreciate it if you could let me know if you see any warning signs with this watch. The hands and crystal look like original replacement parts to me. I'm not sure about the bezel insert: it may be an aftermarket "aged" replacement. The lume dot on the bezel insert has been definitely replaced and the insert looks way too good to be original.

Here are the pictures:

Hi
What you mean by this"original replacement parts to me"? Do you mean Rolex/Tudor replacements?
For certain the hands have been replaced, as they do not match the dial, and are too white to be aged.

And I agree the bezel insert looks too "clean" to be original to that case.

Look forward to others comments to the dial

Regards

Yes, I meant that the hands and crystal look like Rolex/Tudor replacements.

If this bezel insert is an aftermarket, it's very well done.

Overall, I like the watch and want to keep it (as long as it's not a fake).

This watch was listed on fleabay before (we agreed with the seller after the auction was over):

And here's another picture of the watch. I just put it on a navy blue Nato:

Movement and case look original.
Personally the mismatch of hands to dial puts me off.
Some of the others that now show on that page (because its sold) looked better value to me, albeit $700 to $1000 more.
Or this sub
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-TUDO...3D262585780593

Buts its a personal thing
So enjoy

Thanks, Adam. The hands don't put me off that much (as long as they are not fake, but they look fine to me). And I didn't pay that much for the watch. The seller and I agreed on a better price :)

I'm very curious of what others think regarding the bezel insert. It looks original, but it's in great shape. And the new luminous dot makes me think it may be an aftermarket insert.

Is the bezel a blue one with a black face? The crown is also replaced as it has a triplock marking and I think that age shouldn't be triplock?

Dial looks 100% good. I don't like the date wheel however. It looks to be white and not have serifs rather than silver with serif numerals.

I did not see the movement photo but the only way to truly know it is a Tudor 2784 and not some other 2784 is to look at the main plate under the dial. They are stamped Tudor. Phony rotors are all over the place for these and they weren't very highly decorated.

Case looks legit as well.

Insert I'm not totally with- that Pearl is not cool but the color and texture of the insert does look good to me (in the photo).

Crystal is aftermarket. Not original and not a service replacement. That really bugs me but may not bother you.

Hands appear to be tritium and are probably newer. The dial plots will lighten up when you wear it in the sun. Mine did.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Jim! I'm putting a picture of the movement below (from the seller's original listing). Also, there are more pictures in this eBay link:

Yep! Movement looks good!

That style rotor is not replicated as far as I am aware. Winding bridge has the correct engravings too.

But the "acid test" is still the stamp under the dial. So much more is correct than not, I feel comfortable thus us a legit piece.

I don't know, but a Rolex service center may be able to source a silver date wheel for you...

I think I watched that one on eBay at some point. Nice pick up. I have a love affair with Tudor subs lately.
