Help Me Identify and Information

Dear Forum Members:

Can anyone out there help me identify this watch, and provide any information? This has been in my family a long time. Last time I casually checked, it does not have high monetary value, but to me it has great sentimental value.

I took it to Sutter's Watch Repair in Chicago many years ago to get an overhaul and new crystal, I was told that parts are no longer available.

Any and all info on what this watch is exactly and details on how to service, preserve would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

Probably a late 50's/early 60's, 65xx Oyster Perpetual with a refinished dial.

Numbers on the sides of the case under the bracelet and inside the caseback will zero in the details..

Parts are discontinued through the conventional means that an old watch maker would use but parts are still available by unconventional means. The secondary market is full of old discontinued parts.

The Butterfly Effect: A T Rex steps on a butterfly and then 100 million years of evolution that didn't happen and evolution that did happen because that particular butterfly was removed from DNA chain. Probably why we have gingers today!

"Many years" of experiences you never had because some watchmaker lied and told you a rather ordinary Rolex couldn't be serviced. People you never met, things that didn't happen, simple pleasure in owning a fine watch denied to you because some idiot had a hangover and didn't want to deal with you.

Get that beauty serviced and make up for lost time.

Whoever replaced the crystal put the bezel on wrong (clockwise by a few minutes) unless it's loose.
