Mine cost about the same to service as an automatic (Submariner, GMT, etc), but they can be much more expensive if certain parts need to be replaced, I think.

Hi Old Beast,
What is the best thing to do go to a RSC with a OQ or to a high end watchmaker that has experience with mechanical oysters? |

Sticky that Adam...
I would stay with a RSC for a OQ service.

Hallo Rob.
Ik ben stagair horlogemaker bij Schaap en Citroen, de revisie kosten voor een Oysterquartz zijn geloof ik €620,- voor staal en €700,- voor goud/staal. Hierbij is polijsten inbegrepen. Als je het horloge bij ons inlevert wordt er een prijsopgave gemaakt. Het kan zijn dat bijvoorbeeld de elektromotor kapot is, in zo'n geval komen de kosten hiervan nog bij de revisiekosten. |

The main difference in price is if you need a coil. They run about $400 a piece. RSC is the way to go.

€525,- is the current price we charge for a coil. Crazy expensive, but a necessary part.

Hi Bas,
Is the exchange of the battery by S&C every two years free of charge or you have to pay for it. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk |

It's free in the Hong Hong RSC, and some others around the world that I've read about here. As originally promised by Rolex to all new OQ owners.

We do not just swap the battery, we'll clean the watch and bracelet in the ultrasonic cleaner, replace the gaskets and do a pressure check.

Depends on location, as is often the case with RSCs. Tokyo RSC wouldn't change my battery without doing a full service.
