What do you make of this? Explorer II

Was looking at this and can't decide really. Always liked the GMT function and a white dial Explorer has been on my list for a while.
The dial seems to have quite a beating. The 4 marker looks like it leaked lume ? The markers and dial from 10-12 look pretty badly damaged too. The bracelet has badly stretched as well.

What do you guys make of it? Worth getting or not?

Its worth getting depending on the price. Personally, if it is in good working condition or can be serviced back to working order, I would swap out the bracelet and put it on a leather or nylon nato (because the bracelet looks to be done)

Well the watch is working. No box or papers. Waiting for the seller to send me the serial and ref looks to be a 16570

What would be a reasonable price considering the condition?

It's been polished to death...so no bringing that back.

Is it worth it? Depends on the price and what you're wanting out of the watch.

Lugs are not that bad. Can be brough to life easily.
New bezel (or used unpolished one) is easy to get in Ebay/ Chrono , for a decent price.
Only upper crown guard is overpolished...
P.S White tritium dials for 16570 also can be had for a decent price.

So - not much of investement to bring it back to life.

I have just part exchanged mine today for a new Sub no date. I got £3,000.00 it was a 1998 year and virtually mint. So yes this has had a tough life and someone has tried to revive it, unsuccessfully, and you are now stuck with an over polished watch. It would have to be very cheap, and I certainly wouldn't wear it

Check the 10 o'clock marker, it looks like it's missing something. I'd pass!

Yes that really did put me off as it looked like that marker never aged for some reason

Looks rough. A project for sure. Wouldn't pay more than $2500.

The 10 o'clock marker alone would have me passing on this one.

Why bother with this one when you can buy a very nice example for under $4000?

That's my thought exactly. This one looks trashed, I would not want to wear it. That $2500 is your hard-eared money and is better spent towards getting something beautiful.

Pass. I don't like the looks and over polishing. The vibe of the watch is wrong. Better options will present itself.

It's not great, certainly not, I'd haggle harder. "The bracelet, bezel and dial are all shot" etc. The case doesn't look too bad imo and the bezel can be touched up. The dial almost looks as though it could smell bad when the air hits it. Press for 2k and it's not a bad project piece.

The ten marker seems to have no lume at all in it. Where is it? Either Rolex let it out like that (which I doubt) or it should be rattling around in there. If not, it has been opened.
The dial is visible and that looks like crap. I wouldn't want to think about the state of the invisible bits.
