A Black Bay Homecoming

As some of you may remember I purchased a Black Bay Blue in May 2015. I subsequently sold that watch in order to help finance the purchase of my Explorer which I bought in December 2015.
I was sorry to see that watch go but the Explorer took precedence as my first Rolex and is a watch that I'll never part with. But I did promise myself that I would reacquire the Black Bay as soon as possible. As luck would have it, Tudor introduced the Black version of the Black Bay in October 2015 which is the model I would have preferred all along.
Fast forward to April 2016, and my concern that the ETA version of the Black Bay would no longer be available at the time I could afford it. My friend and fellow Brooklynite Chadri put me in contact with Thanh Do AKA Takuya who sourced the watch and agreed to accept a deposit to hold the watch until I was ready which I knew would be in about six months.
Today I was finally ready. I contacted Takuya, wired the balance this morning and will finally have the watch early tomorrow. I can't say enough about how graciously Takuya conducts business. A few weeks ago I had even offered to send him some additional cash as a good faith gesture. He told me not to bother and to just contact him when I had all of the money. I would certainly not hesitate to do business with him again.
So tomorrow the Black Bay finally comes home. Better yet, it's the Black, which would have been my preference from the beginning. Of course, after admiring it for awhile, I'll post some photos.

Thanks Daniel. I see that you also have both plus a DJII.
I'd like to finish off my collection with a white dialed DJ.

Just realized I should've posted this in the General Discussion forum.
I asked one of the mods to move it.

Yes, a DJ of any type will give you a lot of versatility. I find with these 3 watches, it really becomes hard to justify adding another...although would always desire to do so!

I sure will. I hated to let the other one go but it all worked out for the best.

Thank you. I can't say enough good things about Takuya.
When he got the watch he put my name on the warranty card, sent me a photo, and put it in his safe for six months.

love the red strap, i did something similar with my bb only a red nato rather than leather

the red triangle allows a red strap go well with this watch IMO

Thanks, I agree, the triangle makes red straps work well with it. Such a versatile piece. I have red and black rubber BC NATOs I really like on it too.

I know Angelo has been looking forward to this one for some time, and if I recall correctly from other threads, he rocks his Explorer on a rubber B from time to time...so I suspect advantage will be taken of the BBN's versatility.

You're right Bill. The Explorer's on a RubberB right now.
First thing I'll do tomorrow is size the bracelet on the Black Bay, then remove it for the nylon strap.

Great to hear that you required a black bay. This is just another tick Mark proving that the trusted sellers are the way to go.
