Help me evaluate the condition of this 16710
It is a F serial. Private sale in Canada. B&p. Recent Rolex service for $1000 Canadian (monopoly money). Crystal and bezel insert were replaced during service. Seller asking around $7000 USD. Can anyone comment on the general condition of the case. I am not adept at assessing if a 5 digit watch has been overpolished or appropriate amount of polish for its age. Seller is second owner and states it was only polished by rsc this year. Thanks guys.

May I also ask why you prefer David's example? The faded pepsi is nice. Is that the reason? |

Condition looks good, polished but only once maybe twice. Go for it, it's an excellent watch.

From what I can see, I'd jump on that one.

It's a good looking watch, but 7000 seems a bit on the high price point. I saw a few 116710's for the same price and even a little less. Only thing about it is that you can't get a stainless pepsi with a 6 digit reference. If you like that watch, and it checks out perfectly, then but it and enjoy it in the best of health. You certainly can't go wrong with a beautiful GMT, GMT2. They are great watches!

RE: the case condition - looks pretty similar to mine, maybe a bit more polished. Mine has only been polished once, and very very lightly by Rolex. Mine is a bit sharper than that one, so I think it was either polished harder, or has been polished twice. Either way, it is still looking pretty darn great.

Looks good to me but as what others said, the price is a bit high. Even with the price increases, I wouldn't pay more than 5000 for these. Just not worth it in my opinion. At 6000, I would rather pay a little more and get a BLNR.

As much as it might not be worth that much to others, 6-7k USD is the going rate for most of these watches, fully serviced, mint condition with box and paters 7k, 6k with cosmetic issues, no service history or missing box and papers.
Obviously pay less if you can, but if it is a complete set and was just serviced and is not overly polished, it is high 6's I think and you can look at it in person and get it in country, so I would certainly make an offer and paying close to that would not be a terrible deal. You probably won't loose much on it at the current rate of price increase on those. |

Agree. Not sure what the taxes are to import but that has to be factored into a US piece as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Guys we are at $6700 USD now for the watch. Here is the service paperwork for a $800 USD service at Rolex Canada in March/16. What do you think? Seller is trusted.
Does refinishFIXcase mean something was fixed on the case? Or is this just what Rolex puts on the service paperwork for a polish? |

Interesting looking at your posts on this 16710 and as well as your poll. You seem very reluctant to follow your own instincts. I've been here since 08 and have never seen someone ask for so many opinions on what they should or should not do prior to a purchase. I'd suggest some people should stay with BNIB otherwise they are never content with the blemishes of a used watch. All watches are polished initially and many are slightly different because of that human factor. Your F serial pic has things that would bug me at that price point. Then again having read all these "is it overpolished" threads lately I'm becoming a little OCD about some things. I bought a polished 16710 a couple years ago but paid half that price, so on balance the little things can be overlooked. There are BNIB 16710's out there, I'd suggest you locate one of those.
