Need Information on older bracelets.
I'm on the hunt for a used Jubilee band for my GMT Master II. I still need to learn more about older bands, clasps, and end pieces in order to avoid buying fakes. Could a few Members look at the band in the auction below and discuss what is correct about this band. For example I noticed that on older clasp the hinge pins do not have riveted ends but newer clasp do have them. What other elements are a dead give away?
Thanks, Arron http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-Rolex-GM...QQcmdZViewItem |

Err buddy Arron...if yours is GMT II...it could be Ref 16710 or 16760...
The correct Jubilee bracelet for your watch(either 16710 or 16760)...would be ref 62510H Jubilee bracelet with 502 endlinks... Otherwise...you can opt for the correct Oyster bracelet 78790 + SEL for your 16710 GMT...or 78360 with 501 endlinks for 16760 GMT. That said...the 6251H Jubilee bracelet you highlighted from eBay...although it's genuine...it is NOT correct for your watch. That is for the old vintage 1675 GMT Masters...DateJust...Turn-O-graph etc etc. Hopes that helps... |
