Found my dream 1665 after all!
Thought I'd give the follow up to everyone that helped me out by offering their advice/opinion about the "mis-labelled" watch from Bob's Watches!
Was approached by two folks with 1665's for sale, and after initial contact, a bit of investigation, and soul-searching, . . I plunked down a bit o' cash for the prettiest 1665/9315 with Mk 1 dial and original superdome and beautiful finishing recently done by L.A.WatchWorks (Erik Ku), and... I couldn't be happier. I bought this from Matt Wu - who is well known to TRF, and that was the best thing I could have done. Knowledgable, and a teacher's heart. I really enjoyed our short meeting. Let's hear it for trustworthy sellers, right?? Thank you all again! Now, ... on to my next hunt for a sweet 5513! Bob |

Huge congrats! That is one nice looking Great White. I tell you, these things are getting harder and harder to find, especially in that condition.
Very happy this all worked out for you in the end. Good luck on your 5513 hunt! |

Over the past several years I've "overpaid" for several vintage Rolexes from the recommended guys (Shearer,HQ and Bain to name a few), and I've never looked back or second guessed a purchase. In the end the the (extra) money is well spent.
