New Rolex owner

Hello!!
I have always had a love for watches, but I never thought I would own a Rolex. I purchased a new Air King in stainless and blue face on November of 2015, and I've loved it since.
I've received many compliments, and it draws attention everywhere I go.

I'm contemplating purchasing a Milgauss with a black face, but I don't know how I feel about the shape of the second hand.

You should def. try one on. I almost love the Milgauss but keep buying other watches. It's a unique animal, that one. A bit thicker, with some mixed metaphors aesthetically. One thing that would make me love it more would be brushed centre links.

The lightning-bolt seconds hand was first introduced by Rolex in the 1950s, and is one of the coolest, boldest design touches in the company's history, IMO.

Imagine Steve McQueen in The Blob (1958) rather than Bullitt (1968).

Welcome to TRF. You should try on the Milgauss and see how you feel about it after. I think the bolt seconds hand is a nice touch.

No doubt it's an amazing piece (the Milgauss) and the second hand is without a doubt bold, but I don't know how I feel about it. I've worn one at the jewelry when I went to buy my Air King.

I get a lot of comments on my Z blue Millie. Its the crystal that gets attention. The second hand is not nearly as noticeable. But you can never go wrong with an AK, congrats!

I think that orange second hand gives the watch the character. Some may like it while others dislike it.
I have Milgauss GV Z Blue too. At first, I had no idea whether would I like it or not but once trying it in the store I said I have to have this watch

The lightning bolt is a cool look. I wouldn't let it deter you. It's part of the watch's history.

Never tried on a Milgauss but heard they are a thick watch.
They certainly look nice though.

The Milgauss is a great watch, the only time I would not fully recommend it is if it's your only watch. Since you have the airking I think it would be perfect!
