Pearl is intact but its clear lacquer cover is busted. Repair options? (photo)
Hello,
As you can see the clear lacquer coating over the pearl is busted but the pearl itself is intact. What are my options for repair? I've heard stories of treatments involving multiple applications of a thin hard glue to rebuild the clear layer. If anyone has recommendations for a watchmaker experienced with this I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance! |

Maybe just put a few coats of varnish/lacquer on it, or leave it be.

I'd just track down a new/used insert. That's for a sapphire Sub. Not too hard to find and not that expensive, even nice faded ones with intact pearls. If it was for an acrylic Sub, that would be a different story.
