Where/How do you wear your Rolex?
I know this sounds like a stupid question but here's why I'm curious to hear how you guys wear your Rolex.
Let me explain, a couple of weeks ago I attended some great Leadership trainingin San Diego led by two former Navy SEALs, Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. They wrote a book called Extreme Ownership, and it is by far the best leadership book I've ever read. Anyway, long story short, I noticed that Jocko (this guy) wears his watch (a Timex) on the "Blade" of his wrist instead of on "the top of his wrist" like most people wear it. Here is a picture taken from his last podcast where you can see what I'm talking about: That made me think of the show "The Unit" which was about Delta Force Operators, and on the show they all wore their watch on the inside of their wrist, like this: So how do you wear your Rolex? Also, another thing I was wondering is how tight do you wear your watch, do you wear is tight where it barely moves around on your writst? Do you have a lot of slack where it moves all over the place? |

As far as I know, most soldiers wear their watches like this to avoid giving their position away to the enemy due to the reflective glass or lume of the watch.
I personally wear it on the outer side of my wrist and I need a mix between tight and loose, in between is just fine for me. |

Surely no watch can be worn like this indefinitely? He must use double-sided tape or something.

Maybe he is just wearing it like that while he is doing the conference so he can keep an eye on the time without it looking like he is constantly checking his watch which some people might think is rude.

Where/How do you wear your Rolex?
I keep some slack in the bracelet or strap. Some of my watches do tend to slip onto the edge of my wrist when I'm on a keyboard or driving for long periods of time.
I suppose wearing it like Jocko would keep him away from his new job's most perilous incidents - like desk swirlies or striking a doorjamb while rushing to get another cup of "Jocko White Tea" during an advert break. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As far as position on my wrist, I wear it normally. I do wear it rather tight though, not much play/movement. Not tight enough that it's squeezing my wrist or leaving marks though; just how it's comfortable for me.

It depends on the piece.
I wear my DBlue with a snug fit (just can fit the tip of my pinky under the clasp)due to its size and weight. I wear most of my others slightly looser than that. I wear all my pieces sunny side up |

I wear mine on the top of the wrist and snug enough where it doesn't move around. Extremely comfortable.

Top of the wrist. When I was in the forces I wore my watch on the top of my wrist as well with a nylon strap and it had a cover on it to cover the glass.

to my knowledge normally its inside wrist to avoid reflection that the military advocate. But I was in a tank or on a horse....so what do I know about Seals and watches.

I'm not Operator enough to wear a watch like this. I wear mine face up on my left wrist everywhere I go. I seldom have to worry about a reflection giving away my location.

I was never comfortable wearing it on the inside, so kept it outside. Like things a little looser so that there is some movement, but not floppy. Which is one reason I really love that the Deep Sea has the clasp it does. Without it, I am not sure how long it would last for me if I couldn't adjust it quickly. |

I wear my watch loosely on the top of my wrist.
I had a teacher in junior high school who wore his watch like that. He was a WWII veteran, but I'm not sure that that had anything to do with it. I never saw anyone in the Marine Corps wear a watch like that, either Stateside or in Vietnam. In my 67 years I have only seen one person that I can remember wear a watch like that. I've seen more wear their watches on the bottom of their wrists than in this manner.

One of my pet peeves is when I see the older ladies in our family wear them face down, but they have also evolved poor eyesight so they don't see the cracks on their crystals and so sleep happily at night.
