The Watch Buyer's Group is Awesome!

Just a short post to give a shout-out to the Watch Buyer's Group (TWBG) and Ripley, who answered all of my questions and couldn't have been more professional.

Recently I purchased a Datejust 16013 from a TRF member. It is a 1979 model with a Buckley dial. It looked a little beat up, so I shipped it to TWBG the same day I received it. Prior to shipping it, I forwarded seller-supplied photos of the watch to Ripley. He explained to me what TWBG would do with the watch.

Some days after shipping the watch, I received an explanation of what the watch needed to receive a 3-year warranty (new mainspring and automatic axle). In addition to the required parts, I opted for a new acrylic crystal. TWBG also extended a 10% Veterans discount on the parts and the work. The total price was very reasonable for a complete cleaning, polishing and overhaul.

I received the watch on Friday (Veteran's Day) and the watch looks amazing. Now this is a watch I would not sell. I will try to come around later to post before and after pictures. Taking it out for its first walk right now - giddy with excitement!

Interesting I was preparing to send my 1991 DJ to Rolex for service, but the was hoping to save on the price. I haven't seen TWBG mentioned here much (admittedly I haven't been a member for long) lots about RSC Dallas. I'd be interested in seeing your pictures.

Not sure if my post belongs here because it regards a service I received... not a watch purchased from a dealer.

And here are the "after" photos - after the Watch Buyer's Group serviced my watch.
