How likely is this to happen at Baselworld 2017?
I was pretty disappointed when the Pepsi ceramic came out a few years ago exclusively in full 18K WG. I currently have the BLNR but something about the blue+black combination doesn't rub me the right way. Also, the community-given name of Batman is pretty damn stupid.
Anyway, I have hope that perhaps the GMT line can be reinvigorated with the comeback of the Coke w/ ceramic in stainless steel. Anyone think BW 2017 might be the time to shine? |

It may, but probably in platinum. That's how Rolex does...

If/when the Coke makes a comeback, then I'll be putting my name on a list asap!

I know. Basically it'll only come in <insert your favorite precious metal here when everyone wants stainless>.

we could see this happening.
since the BLNR is such a success, theres certainly room for a Coke bezel in the SS. |

Originally I would have said white gold or platinum for the coke bezel but with how popular and high demand for daytona 500 is.... Rolex could bank on an SS version easily

After all the recent trauma of Brexit and their AD games, the least Rolex can do for us now is a special SS release in the UK only. Give them WG or Plat elsewhere.

How likely is this to happen at Baselworld 2017?
If they do bring it back in SS. (Which BTW I don't think will happen.) I hope they make it more of a tool watch with BCL's & not PCL's as pictured by OP.

I am not in the market for another Rolex (lack of budget) but if that came out I would be smashing the AD's door down to get hold of one.

16710 is already an option - and an effective 6-in-1 watch.

Won't be surprised if we get a coke or root beer GMT at Basel in 2017.

answer is: no one knows, besides Rolex. super top secret!
Highly unlikely (if they do ever release it) it will be SS. Like others said, if they do do it, it'll be white gold or something PM. But I think most people expect something for the Sea-Dweller come March 2017. Its 50th anni so something special should be planned. Its the only model with no color variation in the current sports-watches line up. And a Tudor GMT. Please. |

It is stainless steel. I heard from my AD who knows a guy that knows another guy with a son who goes bowling with some guys that buy watches from an ad that talked with their Rep who heard from his buddy that works on cars who once bought a submariner in 1993 from his best friend who has an uncle that did some plumbing work for a friend that works at an AD. I think this should secret info should put us as ease.
To the OP, it does look great and a stainless or pm model would be quite a watch. |

If that coke comes out in SS, I think the GMT would give the new 116500 a challenge for the hardest watch to get. I know I'd be placing my order as soon as it happened. |
