Y Serial 14060M and Bracelet Material Question
Ok, I have searched the internet and searched the forums, but have yet to find a definite answer about the materials of my 14060M's bracelet. I know the case is 904L steel (I've deduced that thus far), but cannot find any indication of whether or not my bracelet is 904L or 316. I purchased the watch new from an AD in 2004 and have no plans of selling, upgrading, etc. It's one of the facts about my watch that has peaked my curiosity following some recent posts. So, WISs, please help.

From what I have heard your bracelet is 316, 904L has been used since 2010.

Rolex is cryptic about it and has been advertising it in their bracelets since 2010. That in no way means that that is when they began using it.
Much like they have been advertising the Parachrom since 2005 but began using it in some models 5 years earlier. I would say that it depends on the model; like the 2000 Daytona with solid links and billet clasp was likely 904L. However, without some molecular investigation, you will likely never know.
