Nato Strappage continues...

A couple weeks ago I posted a shot of my diver on a camo Nato strap. The novelty of that strap wore off, and so now I'm sporting a different one. The beauty of the Nato's is they are easily changed out, and there's a cornucopia of choices available... and I have several. Who knows... maybe I should start a weekly "Nato of the week" thread and change my username to "Natocrazy!"

I do the same on my Tudor BBB. I even splurged a little and bought me a nice hornback alligator strap for it. It's nice to be able to change the strap so cheaply. When I was originally shopping for my Tudor I had to have the bracelet. So far I have not even worn the bracelet. Only NATOs or the alligator strap.

I wear NATO bands for a lot of my watches except Rolex. They are more comfortable than SS bracelets in the Winter months.

NATO's are great but for me they have to match the watch. Tudor does it the best in my opinion as they provide the strap with the watch. My favorite is the strap on the Black Bay Bronze.

Love nylon for comfort, durability and versatility, but find Nato's too bulky. Perlon for me..

Love Zulu nato on my Daytona
Perlon I find too thin & don't get that sexi round curve from nato & certain strap

Never tried a perlon. How do they hold up compared to standard natos? Are they softer? Scratchier? What a good source for quality? TIA

There are a few different 'weaves' I have a red one that is too fat and uncomfortable. A blue and grey that are soft and very comfortable, but look very fabric like (?!) My favorites are my black ones, thinner, very slightly looser weave. Very strong and flexible, thin - so watch not raised above wrist. Stretch a little when wet but drys fast. All mine are Eulit purchased from yellys.ch

I use an 18mm one pulled wide at the lugs on a 114270, narrower strap looks nice on 36mm watch, but little to no sprinbar shows 🙂 Can't post a pic as that one away for service.

Being thinner and more flexible, do they still support the (heavy) watch head well? I'm liking the look!

I love the steel bracelets on all my watches, but when diving I use nato on my SMP300Diver. I tried zulu straps, but find them too thick and bulky. The perlon I tried was scratchy and the buckle was flimsy

Here's my Explorer II (Ref 216570) with a Tudor NATO strap and Smarty endlinks

A larger image I have posted here https://www.minus4plus6.com/images/S...s/smarty_3.jpg

Tudor NATO straps redefine the notion of a NATO strap with their buckle system that allows for adjusting the length of the strap such that the buckle is centered on the underside of your wrist. Smarty endlinks provide the finished-look.

More on Tudor NATO straps and how they work is posted here.

No problems with support, although heaviest watch I have had on them was a Speedmaster (maybe a 116622, not sure) hardly big watches. Nato's I've had in the past were softer and floppier.

I think you can now get same material in a two piece from Eulit. I have the Nomos two piece but it was scratchy where the ends folded over around the springbars.
