This is not your fault.. I place the blame solely on Invicta. Please do not change your drinking habits. lol

I was talking to a lady at church today, we're on the board of deacons together and she was greeting. She complimented me on my watch. I was wearing a Benrus from the 30's or 40's, a pretty ornate art deco style on a black croc band. She seemed to really like it. Come to find out she's a clock collector. So, my advice is to continue open dialogue concerning our hobbies.

Yep. If anyone ever asks me what kind of watch I'm wearing I just say the model name instead of Rolex: "This is called a GMT." That way I've answered the question and I've avoided the uneasiness of announcing that I'm wearing a Rolex.

I've seen some Daniel Wellingtons that have caught my attention, too.

Same. I'll say "GMT/Nautilus/Daytona"

It's one reason I sold most of my Rolex's and wear an Omega most days, I prefer to be left alone and live in anonymity without some wack job yelling "nice Rolex dude" when I'm out eating (it's happened)
No I just think they say to themselves "my husbands a cheap bastard"

Anyways, nice watch is all I will say and it's a rare occurrence. Maybe once a year when the circumstances are appropriate (i.e. Others won't hear, it's a social situation etc)
X2. All the time.

Sometimes the watch is a "$10 Walmart Special" and the person tells me so.

I say something to the effect that it doesn't matter. It's a nice-looking watch, anyway.

I think that it's a wonderful time when you can buy so many great-looking watches for so little, besides the fact that they perform so well.

Some of my favorite watches cost less than $200 and some a lot less.

While on a cruise last summer, we were in an elevator with an older couple. Suddenly, my very tipsy wife blurts out "Is that a Breitling??" Since I bought her one a few years back, she seems to think she knows a thing or two about watches. Needless to say, it was an Invicta, but it was funny to hear the guy say "yup".

When asked about my watch I will always tell them is a submariner or milgauss. They always say, "nice watch"

When asked about my watch, I always say the model name. If they are a WIS, they will know it's a Rolex. If not, it doesn't come off as pretentious.
