Because you already have a BLNR I'd say enjoy the Pam! Very nice combo!

I would not trade any Rolex for a Panerai, however, I am not a fan of the brand.
But it's simply your choice, good luck!

When you sell a Rolex you get enough money to buy a Panerai. When you sell a Panerai you get enough money to buy a Casio. Your decision.

Keep the Rolex and add the 372 later. I've owned 3 panerai watches and flipped them all because fell out with them very quickly. Can't explain it but it's the one brand that just keep my attention for very long!!

Completely different watches with different build qualities. The explorer II is the most understated Rolex in my opinion. Go anywhere, do anything. My favorite.

I would rather have the 372 personally so I say go for it! Seems like your getting a good deal a quick search and it looks like the two watches trade around the same price used so getting $500 is a bonus.

As for the negative comments

"Completely different watches with different build qualities. The explorer II is the most understated Rolex in my opinion. Go anywhere, do anything. My favorite."

Nothing wrong with Panerai's build quality based on my experience. I love my 422 and it easily gets the most compliments of all my watches. Nothing against the Explorer 11 but it would be very easy to get another down the road, not like you flipping a SS Daytona-C.

"When you sell a Rolex you get enough money to buy a Panerai. When you sell a Panerai you get enough money to buy a Casio. Your decision."

He probably never even owned a Panerai (no offense). 372 seems to be holding strong and you can't get hurt buying used. Outside of a hard to get piece i.e. Daytona-c they all deprecated.

Hell yeah, since you already have the BLNR, do it. The 372 and the BLNR would make a killer combo!

Change is good sometimes, but not in this example. A Rolex for a Panerai is a big difference in style and wearability. I can see the appeal in the Pan's, but they do not do anything for me.

Keep the Rolex, save for the Panerai

I've bought/sold Panerai's several times I keep going back to a Rolex the Panerai ends up getting no wrist time (though I still have one)

As someone pointed out I know plenty of people who have bought Panerai and sold them to buy another Rolex (never the other way around)

Your GMT BLNR and the 372 would make a great combo, plus you'll have some $$$ to spend on extra straps for the 372

Nice to have some diversity in the collection

Go for it! The 372 is so nice and would make a great pair with your BLNR.

No, you are not mad.
Buy and wear whatever you like. it does not matter what others would do.

I had a Pam and I enjoyed it very much. It is a watch in its own league and so is the Explorer. If if you ask me you are kind of consistent with your choices, you want something different from the main stream.
The explorer 2 is my daily beater now and imo it is best modern Rolex money you can buy. (and I did want to flip it and some point...).

Again, no right or wrong.....we buy and wear watches that we like, sometimes we get bored the them, sometimes we fancy a change....

I would not do that trade. The Polar Explorer II is a unique and very wearable watch. I owned the 422 and at 47 mm it was too big. I could make it work but for me the large watch fad is long over. I also don't like Panerai as a company in how they treat the customer. Average to poor after sale service, huge depreciation in value. It is your watch so do as you wish.

I wouldn't, but only because I love the look of the explorer. That said, I just traded my blue stick Datejust II for a 512, which doesn't even seem to be all that popular a model amongst paneristi. So I guess I'm in the "follow your heart" camp and do what makes you happy.

I could see adding the 372 but letting go of a 24h timing watch with a crown is something I wouldn't do. Then again I love and use a GMT complication nearly daily. But a simple diver is something that works in most collection or just in the spirit of minimalism...

Out of those two. No doubt at all i would be going for the 372! I agree with many fellow members, as an only watch Rolex, but as a second or third panerai fits right in.
