Just got a copy off eBay (at a reasonable price) ... thumbed through it when I got home, but I have yet to read it thoroughly. The production quality of the magazine is impeccable (like the Omega Lifetime magazine) .. very impressive. Looking forward to reading this - wearing my SubC, of course.

Just got mine.... nice mag, my favorite for sure!

I would love one with the GMTII history with a BLNR on the cover...

I went into a dealer's store yesterday for the 1st time and told them I just came to lurk. No matter. I would ask "hey, is that the..." or "do you sell a lot of the..." and the piece would be out instantly. Offered to pull others out of the safe if I wanted to ogle them up close. And then, with no prompting from me, I am handed a copy of Rolex Magazine #6 plus the reference guide book. Manager came over and introduced himself. Got the big league treatment all the way.

I was wearing jeans, sneakers, a T-shirt and a leather jacket. Not exactly reeking of money, and the first words out of my mouth were announcing that I was there to admire, not to shop. Needless to say, this is my new watch store.

Good morning to you all
I have received a copy of rolex magazine issue 6 by post. Thanks to our forum member crunchypirate for his generosity. Just to remind that the AD from whom I bought 2 watches told me that, I have to be a VIP customer to be eligible. Not sure what he means by VIP customer- some one who buys PM pieces???. Any way they lost a customer.

Here are the pictures of the magazine and sub nd- perfect combination. This forum is great and support from forum members are simply amazing. Once again thanks to crunchypirate for his kindness.

I don't understand this mag or what the big deal is
It's just a big brochure isn't it?
My Rolex AD handed me 3 copies saying one to read one to save and one to give away
I flipped through it at home in 5min and tossed all 3

You both are right. It is not a big deal but I bought sub nd recently and wanted to read this issue. I liked the story and pics about submariner. If my AD handed over a copy to me without making big fuss, I would not have felt anything different.
Pl help other forum members and forward copies to them if if you have too many👍.

It is a fantastic read, but 60 is a bit much, I understand if it's not available anywhere but these I think you can still find at ADs or maybe cheaper on EBay

I casually picked this issue up at the Bellagio OB a couple of weeks ago and was told to just take it! So I did! Interesting read and I'll be on the lookout for further issues.

My jewellery store stopped being an AD recently so I called Rolex Canada a couple of days ago and asked for one. It's on its way to me now to join issues 1 - 5.

Currently having my step-son's Oysterquartz there for an overhaul probably didn't hurt.

Seems poor on the part of the AD given that you had bought two Rolexes from them....would have been interesting to hear their definition of the VIP customer!

Thanks for posting! After seeing this thread I stopped by my local AD and picked up an issue! While there I tried on a SD 4000 for fun and guess what? The salesman gave me the whole discontinued model talk and how the SD would be increasing in value... Guess we will see, I know a few other posters have reported the same. I'm not in the market for one, love my sub c nd, but thought I'd share.

The Ben Bridge AD laughed when I asked if they had one. They never have any watches so really know surprise they didn't have the magazine. I paid $25.00 for it on ebay and worth every penny IMPO.

I guess once they're gone they're gone, so maybe ebay is the 'only' option for some people if they live near a particularly busy AD.

The thing is these days, everybody has one eye on the future.

Can you imagine if you had an absolutely mint condition Rolex sales brochure from say the late 50's or early 60's...(I know this magazine isn't a sales brochure as such but you know what I mean - but it is a beautiful reference point for future collectors to look back on and compare dials/fonts/text etc)

I guess some people just love all things Rolex, not just the watches.
