stan wawrinka's ROO

Does anyone play tennis with their AP ROO on their wrist? Looks like stan wawrinka is playing with a stock ROO. Not sure if AP's watch will take that kind of abuse. AP definitely will supply unlimited number of ROOs for him to wear. So he can careless if the movement inside is destroyed after each match.

IF you're really that worried, by a RM Nadal...problem solved

He has a one handed backhand so no issues with his AP.

If you have a two hander ... maybe I wouldn't do it ... though I am pretty sure you won't generate the intensity of shock any of those guys do (no offense). Why risk it though?

Looks like he is playing with the old TI ROO? I've seen FC Diver, 44 FC, Ceramic Diver, White Ceramic Diver, Diver Chrono and a couple others on his wrist.

I have a cool poster of Djoko before his Seiko days wearing the Steel Diver, but I don't think he ever played with a watch on. Of course Serena plays with a gold and diamonds ROO (I think it is a quartz).

Here's a cool article:

assuming the guy is an official ambassador of AP, it's no different than saying, can his sneakers or racket strings take that kind of abuse?

Answer is likely no, in fact I'm sure he has new strings every match... actually more like every set. He probably even changes sneakers in between sets. So the answer is the same. The guy's lucky enough to get paid to wear the watch, along with the sneakers and clothes and racket, etc... They'll fix it and/or just give him a new one.

I do play tennis and have played many many times with a Rolex on the wrist with no issues, but have not with an AP.

I have a two handed backhand, so there is no way I would play with any watch on my wrist. Was just curious if AP can handle that. Nice article.

I accidentally had my Rolex on my wrist while shooting clays. Didn't realize till probably 100 rounds. I was worried. But my Rolex didn't miss a beat. Not sure AP can handle repeated shock like that.

Here's a thought, wear your Rolex while clay shooting.

I have a two hander myself. I usually wear my apple watch when playing.

I've also shot some trap with my submariner on, no issues!

Yep! While shooting sporting clays, my buddy and I were wearing our Explorer and Daytona, and ran into a couple Subs while making the rounds. Wear it!

I've worn my 15400 clay shooting without any issues - I think the AP's are fairly robust in general, but since I'm not sponsored by them I do tend to wear Rolex for water/sporting activities.

I've never had an issue with my Submariner when shooting.

I'm partial to Paul's suggestion of just buying myself an RM Nadal for all g-force intensive activities

Wore my GMT-II while flying aerobatics, hit 8Gs repetitively and it warped the springs, had to drop it off in NYC to get it fixed. :( Never again do I fly aerobatics with an automatic.

I'd never give a thought to wearing a watch whilst shooting, particularly a robust Rolex!

Same here. I have a scratch I got on the gold PCL wearing my 116613lb while trying out suppressed supersonic ammo in the archipelago. I hit my watch perfectly with a shell while reloading
