Faux Patina Lume

My dad recently picked up a new 1312 which he loves however when comparing its faux patina lume to my PAM which has the normal lume it hardly shines as bright when charged. I put them side by side and charged them for the same amount of time and mine is far brighter and lasts longer. Is this normal w/the patina'd lume?

I think thats correct. My 359 has faux patina and doesnt shine as bright as the normal lumed pams.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes confirm that's correct. The lume on my 390 was a lot weaker than the 024. Ecru lume aren't that bright

Thanks for the replies, I figured that was it. Interesting that Panerai sacrifices lume for the patina look

Well, a positive way to look at it is that Panerai designed the patina lume to not only look aged, but to also function like it. So, it's an impressively coherent package! ;-)

Whilst the ecru might or might not last as long, they certainly look the same in terms of luminescence in this pic.

Great shot, Mik

Interesting pic, that glows better than the 1312, I'll try to take a similar pic giving both the equal charge, for some reason my two aren't even close

Does my 232 glow stronger? Yes
Does my 643 still last through the night? Yes
Does the 643 beat my Rolex lume? Yes
