Spent a couple of months searching for the perfect watch for summer. Out on the boat and by the beach most weekends so was searching for a rubber strap watch which looked good and was nice and solid so I wasn't too precious about it.

Panerai caught my eye! Then I saw this beauty with no complications which I wanted so I can just chuck it on, set the time and go.

Problem is I didn't think it looked that great on the rubber, so now it's on the leather and looks awesome. But how well will the leather stand up to getting wet? Are there any rubberised composite leather type straps available for this watch? Would consider using one of those to get the functionality whilst keeping this look.

Thanks for any advice and I will carry on enjoying the watch!

congrats- the good thing about panerai is that is is really easy to change the straps

if your stuck on "OEM" options, the rubber strap or velcro will be best

I highly recommend some fabric NATO straps for the boat- they are cheap and come in tons of different color combos, and most importantly 100% waterproof

Congrats! Nice watch.

I happen to really like the OEM rubber, so can't help you there. Maybe try an aftermarket rubber? There are many cheap ones, or you can try RubberB or Ted Su. Then there's canvas (see Micah's selection). Or get a solid ammo and just wear it in the water.... just don't let it dry in the sun or near a heat source.
