Something new and a little special :)

Found this gem locally. A V serial sold from my AD in December 2010. Complete with it all, even the original receipt ! What a lovely little watch.

Nice, Josh. That's really all the watch you need.

p.s. Is that really where you wear your watch? That's going to increase bracelet stretch, and doesn't it impede your wrist movement?

That's about where I wear it. It might be a little exaggerated in that picture but i like it closer to the hand

Interesting story with the vacheron. I did receive it and posted incoming pics if you look in my history. However, I noticed that the chrono minute counter was stuck and would not function upon arrival. It needed warranty work and i didnt want to ship it to VC in the US for 2 months so soon after buying it. There was a member on another forum who really wanted it so I sold it to him for the same price and he was fine with taking care of the warranty work himself.

As of today I have a 116660 D blue, 116400 milgauss gv, 116710blnr, and 114270 explorer. I have a friend in Paris tomorrow who is trying to find a Patek aquanaut 5167 for me (long shot). If he can find one then it will be too good to pass up with the VAT refund so something will have to go to make room .

Well I also own the dssd. Honestly I like both and I think these "too big" and "too small" topics are silly because ultimately we should wear whatever size watch we feel comfortable wearing. Some days I enjoy the size and sheer heft of the DSSD and I can see myself enjoying a 36mm watch for the comfort and it's ability to disappear and become part of the wrist. Different strokes for different days.

Oddly enough, I also think it illustrates the difference in placement. I wear my watch about where you have the Explorer in that pic (maybe just a little closer to the wrist,) so watches like the DSSD look much larger than if it was down by my hand. I think maybe the trend of "sagging" watches down by the hand has partly led to the larger watch trend.

Do you actually like any of these watches? Or just the thrill of acquiring, flipping and then re-acquiring? I would say congrats but I'm willing to bet this watch will be gone in 2-4 weeks.

However, I totally agree with your statement that the argument about watches being too big or too small is silly. Wear what you want and what is comfortable. Well said.

I'd like to see some precious metal back on your wrist, I was very upset when u flipped gold sub

A special watch. I am happy for its next owner, who I'm sure will appreciate the heck out of it for a very long time.
