16136 Bracelett

I have a 2001 16613 with the 93253 Bracelet that I bought new in 2002 or so. I have worn the watch as a daily use watch all those years and have managed to wear out the bracelet. I took the watch to my local dealer and they sent it on to a Rolex watch repair shop. Their estimate for the watch service is just under 1K(I'm ok with that) but the estimate for the band replacement is 5500.00. Does this seem right?

That's about what they cost exchange; they are more than that outright.. The bracelet prices are much of the cost of an entire watch, although on the TT the center links are made of solid gold

I have the same exact watch, style number R16613N30B9325. I have had the watch for about 17 years and notice the bracelet starting to stretch from daily wearing. My youngest daughter got ahold of it and destroyed the clasp. I decided to take it in for a replacement band and as quoted about $5,200 after taxes, I almost passed out since the watch only cost me $5,999 brand new back in 2001. I started thinking that I was getting ripped off by my certified Rolex dealer but now I feel much better seeing you were quoted about the same price. They had to send it off to an RSA to get the bracelet replaced, I don't even think they gave me any trade in on the old bracelet which I have seen others talk about when getting braclets replaced, needless to say, the Rolex will no longer be my daily wearer after this, it will spend most of its days in its little spinning box after this.
