Due to the monetary value of these Omani watches and other Middle Eastern countries (see GCC) - a lot of these watches have resurfaced.
Dealers and collectors, as well as auction houses are crazy about them; and in recent years, prices for such watches (mostly logo dials) have skyrocketed. With that being said, it is much easier to engrave a caseback (any engraver can reproduce a perfect ‘Khanjar’ (the Omani coat of arm) - It is much harder to produce a perfect Qaboos signature or/and a Khanjar on a dial, many have tried most have not succeeded. |
