Hurricane Ike

For all the poor people living on the Texas Gulf Coast (me)
I hope all will be OK and it will turn somewhere other than Texas Houston/Galveston/freeport.....nobody want a cat 3 or 4 storm to hit.
I live about 60+ miles from the coast ( far N.W. Houston)so im really not worried about
storm surge im worried about weeks with no power
I bought a generator and 5x5 gallon cans and a small window unit.
NO WAY I can live without AC in this humidty.
If it hits my house will be full, her cat and my bunny and my wife kids and their cats. what a weekend this is shaping up to be.

Sorry to hear that, I hope things are not that bad. Just saw NHC's update; cat 4 landfall. We are FAR away from the eye and we have rain and wind!

Good Luck guys... we're about 400 miles from the eye and had wind and hard rain, hope something happens that it weakens before it hits!

Greg, it's started raining here. Hope you stay safe and keep us posted. When it all moves on maybe you can start packing for Arizona.

Good luck and my prayers are out there for everyone. Having lived through several of these storms, don't take any chances.
