Try on the BLNR and then you will know what to do.
I did that and left the AD without it (this was before demand went crazy!).

It's 16610 for me.

After reading that you wear suits and avoid diving or heavy water sports, I think the blnr is a great choice for you. The bracelet is feels amazing and the modern upgrades make this watch a great everyday piece. I rotate throw various watches, but the blnr always seems to come back to my wrist. It's is definitely my everyday work watch.

I would keep the Sub and get the BLNR but if it doesn't pencil out I guess you have to let the Sub go

These pics of the BLNR really aren't helping the subs cause chaps.

Opinions are certainly divided however with many in favour of keeping the sub

It's a big decision I recently traded a watch that I had owned for about 8 years and I went through a lot of soul searching prior to the move for sure.
Have you tried both on? There is quite difference case wise beteeen the BLNR and your current Sub. If you haven't tried them on then I bet if you do, you will know pretty quickly.

This is exactly it. I've had my 16610 from new, it's the last of the run and whilst I've worn it every day, it's still in fine condition. It's comfortable and looks great with smart / casual attire. I was at one point considering changing to the ceramic sub but each time I tried it on it just felt too big. I haven't tried a BLNR on yet and will definitely do so when I get to the AD but with the watch not sized properly it's very difficult to gauge whether you will ultimately adapt to the change in case dimensions over time.

Given this will be my only watch, that's partly what makes this a difficult decision. The GMT is a slightly thinner case so may well feel more comfortable on my wrist than the SUBC so we'll see.

Thanks again for all the input

They are so different if at all possible keep them both. Especially if it's a good 16610

The BLNR is an amazing watch. If the sub was a new subC I would say keep the sub, but seeing as it's a 5 digit (I know blasphemy) I would trade it for the BLNR. The BLNR works great as an everyday watch and it is something special. I would grab the BLNR and save up for a 114060 or a 116610

No way. I'd rather drive one of them much more, so having two would just split up that driving time.

I really appreciate all of your responses. I think adding when feasible is the answer. Sellers remorse sounds to be beckoning with the sale of the sub.

Only if you think you'll get it.

I've let an old LV , SubC, Daytona SS and SD all go...now I've got a BLNR and wouldn't give my BLNR to get any of the old ones back.

Your call but I honestly wouldn't look back.

That 993 is appreciating in value. Those non-turbos will probably hit $150,000 in the not too distant future.

You know what? I regret each time I sold my old collectible items. So my 16710 and my 86 Carrera. Still, if it's your only car and only watch, i think you still need to go modern.

I have a BLNR now and would like to get a 5 digit next. But, I wouldn't give up my BLNR to do it. Ideally, I'd like to have both, but as an only model, I prefer the BLNR.

Get BLNR with no brainer! It is the most stunning all-rounder SS watch, IMHO.

I'd keep the sub. Your sub is a g serial, which means it is one of the last examples of the traditional sub. It would be tough to find another minty g or random 16610 if that means anything to you. Current models will be available for years to come. Keep the sub and save for the next watch.

I would not sell / trade.

Just gotta save and add if you really love the BLnR.

I would also look into trusted sellers on TRF, prob get a better deal than AD.

The BLNR is a fine watch, but there is no trade up from a Sub. Especially if it was your first Rolex!

That is a difficult decision, particularly if you are a fan of the 5 digit models. If it where me (and obviously its not) personally I prefer the 6 digit models.I like everything about the modern reference the bracelet, clasp, ceramic bezel the blue hairspring, the whole package. And I love the GMT function and use it often, so if it where me, yes I would let a 5 digit sub go to move to the BLNR. I mean best of all worlds would be to keep both but I get it if that is not possible.

Keep the sub. Get the BLNR....and you definitely need a Speedmaster. You can always make more money.
