Go with the champagne DD40. The 40 is much refined and almost captures the perfect proportions of the 36.

Love the classic 36mm and have considered it before but want the new movement.

Given your appreciation of rubies, I think it would nag at you if you didn't have them so DD II all day.
I'm also someone who likes the DD II better overall, despite agreeing with your assessment on proportions etc. Always thought the DD II looked a bit bloated in the case but it wears oh so well. On a personal note, I've tried on the DD 40 3x at three different places and every time, the salesperson's said it looked small on me. Outside of this, it seems they're apt to sell me anything so I found this through-line quite surprising. |
