Feedback needed
Hi all.
I am looking to get a Panerai and would love some feedback. I am for sure wanting 44mm and a date,leather band and brushed case. The PAM00312 has caught my eye but as I am no Panerai expert, was hoping to get some input to help in my research. Thanks! |

312 (or the new 1312) seems to tick all the boxes for your wants. Check out the 351 as well. I assume you want to stick with luminors.

312 is a classic modern piece and a good choice.
Be aware that automatic 1950 Luminor references are quite thick, though, and can be top-heavy depending on the wrist. The 1312 is an updated 312 with thinner movement (and watch), with a blue seconds hand and ecru lume. Up to you which you like better. Or, you can look at the Bettarini case Luminors with date like the 104 and 164, which fit great on the wrist, but have the inverted cyclops, which many are not a fan of. Take your time and find what's right for you.

You can't pick a Panerai out based on just pictures. You must try them on. They fit different depending on your wrist. You might be surprised by trying them on. Please do yourself a favor and go to AD/Boutique and try on as many difference cases as you can.
For the record, I thought Panerai's were a joke before I tried them on. Think I might have called them clown watches at one point.

For an extra $1500 to $2,500 depending on condition, the 233 would be my choice. I find the 233 "hugs" my wrist better than the 312. Both are great Luminor references so you can't go wrong.

Get a used 233 or a 104... skip the 312/1312 lineup entirely.
