2 questions for the datejust experts

Why does it look like the gold has chipped on the minute hand and secondly why does my lume not longer work? A little worried about my purchase.

your watch is an older model that appears to be nice and crisp. It's a gorgeous vintage piece so enjoy it! On vintage pieces such as these the tritium plots which are the sections that glow in the dark have about 25 years to glow in the dark. I am assuming this piece is definitely 25 years plus. Also the hand oxidation is also fairly normal. All parts of owning vintage. If it's really bothering you can have the dial and hands replaced for a reasonable amount of money. I would definitely keep everything as is!

I think your watch need a complete overhaul without polish to remain patina!
