White Polar Exp 2 (42mm) vs Datejust 2 (41mm) white dial

I would go polar explorer II out of those two.
Can be dressed up and down and has GMT function.
Also if you like playing around with different straps the explorer is perfect to do so.

I am a huge- no massive explorer fan. Best watch ever!

But I would go this way, this watch over the polar explorer two polar 42mm.

It's classic, timeless Rolex.

Even though I have a current desire to get a Exp II, I to feel that the DJII doesn't get enough love around here. I have one and a Sub and between the two all bases are covered but the DJ II is a little more versatile. The sport watches don't dress up quite as well as the DJ can dress down IMO.

I have the smooth bezel DJII and I want to get the ex2 polar next. I would vote for the DJII before the Ex2 because its more versatile in that it can be worn in business/formal settings better than the ex2 can. However, with that being said, the ex2 is a much tougher watch that can withstand a lot more than the DJII, especially if you want the smooth bezel.

+1 to this - I think the DJII is more versatile up and down, just got the 40mm Exp II for more "casual" times, but still go to the DJII in jeans/sweats as indeed like it. Sub and DJII could check all your boxes; until you hangout on this forum longer and get the hankering for a 3rd...

Very true. I've been lurking here for about a year and a half and thanks to the insight and pics, gotta get another. My wife bought me my Sub, then I bought her a Rolex. Now buying my own.

I'm in favor of the DJII with white gold bezel.
I like that it has a little flash to it.
I got the one with the arabic numerals and I love the watch. Easy to read, beautiful watch.
The exp looks to be more versatile but too plain for me.

I have both the old 40mm Polar Explorer II and the new 42mm Polar, and thought I was all set for white dials (Also owning an Omega Great White GMT), but that's a great looking DJII...

Rolex 74, great DJ2 in white!

I sold an Omega Aqua Terra in white to partially fund a DJ2 in slate with green romans in two tone and I'm missing the purity of the white...

But I can recapture it in my polar Explorer 2!

I think if you're buying an Exp II then it has to be the black dial.

If your after a white dial watch, the DJ2 beats the Polar Exp hands down in my opinion.

But that's just my take on it.

The current Polar is one of my fav in the line up. But as you suggested for dress wear I feel it's a bit my too big, visible and in your face. Orange detail and all. So in your case, a DJ II...the sub comes to play on the weekend.
