waiting

Why do you think we have to wait months after Basel for the new models? Why not release them within a month and strike while the iron is hot and take advantage of all the initial buzz? These new models should have been produced in large numbers prior to Basel. Although maybe they wait to gauge the responses of buyers before determining production? Any thoughts? And yes, I can be an impulsive buyer! It is difficult waiting!

They monitor this forum (TRF) to gauge interest. Then they go to the assembly line and adjust projected output accordingly.

I think the waiting period makes the heart grow fonder and the desire builds!

These products are not the latest version of some electronic gadget.

Rolex intends to sell watches for years, they have no need to rush things out the door.

the supply chain cant ramp up that fast as the distribution channel is made up of various independent authorized dealers. some like mayors probably get their allocations quicker.

It's like that line from Goodfellas; Paulie might have moved slow, but it was only because he didn't have to move for anybody.

Rolex has been in business a long time. Looks like they are good at managing supply and demand.

lol.....but yeah.....as Japanese people would say (love waiting in lines for restaurants and events), waiting is just another spice that sweetens the meal/event.

It's because they are new at this whole marketing versus production thing...and haven't quite gotten it all figured out!

If they had them distributed and ready to go, someone would spill the beans, and Rolex doesn't go for that1

Haha.

No IPhone spoilers due to someone stealing a prototype from the manufacturing plant in China.
