How Far Does Your Appreciation of Other Brands Go......
IWC Big Pilot Vs Rolex DSSD, different yes but to most the wrist presence would be the factor! posted it here as curious and welcome a more Rolex diehard opinion guess you've all seen many Rolex Deepsea pics, here's a big pilot if your appreciation hasn't yet ventured further

Um - grammar check?!?!?
I wish I could understand what you're saying. Nice IWC though.

I wouldn't be throwing my hard earned money on ROLEX if I wasn't a one brand guy. I have beaters that cost $100 or less and then I have ROLEX SS models. Nothing in between ....If I have to spend more than $150 on a watch, I rather spend $4000+ and get a ROLEX SS ...
I sure can appreciate other watches and I do but I consider a waste to spend on any other watch than ROLEX SS SUBs or SD ...Even other rolexes I don't like ... and that sissy A$$ cellini line & tudor line , makes my blood boil .... |

Sorry but, that IWC and the SDDS are two different kind of watches in my mind. i.e. They are not on the same level, diver and just analog w/power reserve.

I like the watch. I really respect the quality of the company. BUT...I see some MAJOR bargans on IWC. They just have no resale. The Baily, Banks, and Biddle in Palm Beach was trying to dump the line at 40% off or more. I think it is one reason why most of us stick to Rolex... we know what most will be worth after the stickers are pulled off.

YES, you are correct. but the other model in platinum ref iw500413 is a father and son. you cannot get the son without the father platinum model which is like 44000us$.

I have to say Rolex is my favorite. Many companies make amazing watches when it comes to function, durability, and quality (e.g. Breitling, Vacheron Constantin, Patek Philippe, Tag Heuer, Audemars Piguet, and many others). I can appreciate all those brands in terms of their quality, but very few of the watches by those companies appeal to me in terms of design, simplicity, and classiness.
I find that Rolex appeals to my taste the most with their simple yet classy designs; their watches are just beautiful. I only have a 16610 Sub now, so before I buy a watch by any other company, I have a long list of Rolexs to buy. Some of those are an SS Daytona with white dial, Platinum Yacht-Master II, SS GMT-Master II C, a Sub no date so I can put a Nato strap on it, and a Sea-Dweller... I'd also love a red or yellow gold Daytona on a black leather strap one day too, and more! To name a few watches from other makes that appeal to me and that I would like to buy one day though: -Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronograph -Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow GMT I can also find some watches by Audemars Piguet and IWC quite good-looking.

The only watch I'm planning to buy beside Rollie is Pannie Radiomir 232, 210 or 190.
That's it. |
