Incoming - Happiness in a Milgauss ref 116400GV, G-serial

The Milgauss isn't for everyone...but it is definitely for me.

Wanted to take a moment to share my latest acquisition courtesy of the fine people at Watches24Seven. The Milgauss ref 116400GV. But not just ANY 116400GV... it's a G-serial!

I know it's old news that even watches of the same reference can and do have a range of subtle dial variations. But perhaps the most in-your-face example of this is the Milguass G-serials vs everything else. It tends to show up in the G-serials that the spacing of the letters in "OYSTER PERPETUAL" are much more spread out compared to the others examples. The T in Oyster is under the R in Rolex and the T in Perpetual is under the X in Rolex. And for me I just had to have this version for some reason.

The first two pics are mine. The last one is an example of one that has the letters of "OYSTER PERPETUAL" much closer together. Once you notice the difference you won't be able to not notice it.

Interestingly enough I noticed that rolex.com shows the more spaced-out version, but good luck finding that variation new in the ADs.

Which version to you guys prefer? (Or am I the only one who notices?!)

Nice pick-up, I knew about these dial variations, but never thought someone would have a strong preference.

Mine is a random serial, narrow spacing. I guess if the wide spacing is more rare, that's a positive, but aesthetically, doesn't matter too much to me.

I have a new 2016 Random Serial black GV version. I do prefer yours. Not because of font spacing but yours has multi color lume and mine doesn't.

That's neat, I didn't know the G serials were different. I looked at photos of mine (now gone) and it too has the wide spacing.

Another "Wide Boy" here.

Wonder if these will be as famous as the Stick "error dial" GMTs? Sorry Padi. Just kidding.

Member Jason71 has a white dial Millie with some funky spacing in the word Rolex. Now that was an error dial. Wish I had a photo of it. I'll have to search for it.

IMO, the MG is one of the best looking watches Rolex offers ................. the green crystal, no date, and no cyclops makes the watch.
