Hard decision because they're all great references, but I just tried on the new Explorer again recently and that is still super high on the list. I say Explorer.

Depends on if you have other SS sports Rolexes or not. If you do, I'd get the BB on a strap. More variety.

i say explorer. it has so many personalities depending on how you want to wear it.
blk bay 36/41 or the ranger looks pretty nice too. cant go wrong, depends on how far you want to stretch your budget. |

If you see the bb41 as a cheaper alternative, I would advise to always save for rolex

Save for the Rolex. IMHO if you ask the question you know the answer especially if you ask on a Rolex dominated forum!

I really like both. Depends on your collection. I like the Explorer more but the BB36/41 is a good alternate it you don't want to spend the money.

I'm a fan of both but if it was my 1st watch then the explorer but owning several Rolex models the BB is a great looking watch on leather and I thoroughly enjoy mine.

First choice BB, then the 2016 Railmaster, then the Explorer for me.

Why not both? To be honest, Rolex Explorer is more luxurious and shinnier on wrist. But Tudor BBN is sportier and has that vintage look especially if you get the 79220N ETA version, a good Rolex Sub's alternative. Both watches are classic and you won't go wrong either way.

It may be a great watch and all, but can you really call the Tudor a 'classic'?

I would go with the Black Bay 41. Great value and should work on leather or NATO straps.

Not even close for me...the Explorer.
The Tudor is one of the few recent releases that just leaves me cold. |

I have the same question. I'm waiting for the BB 41 to arrive at my local dealer and then decide after seeing hands-on. I intend to wear it rather than collect, so less concerned about Rolex versus Tudor branding. I like the looks of the 41's bracelet and strap versions.
