16600 Sea Dweller M serial number

Just purchased M serial number sea dweller 16600. It does not have engraved bezel is this watch correct? I thought that all watches Z and newer were engraved?? Dazed and confused need help

If it's a early M serial it would not have the serial engraved. Serial would probably start with M follow by a 0.

I could be wrong but I'm almost 100% positive no 5 digit SDs had an engraved rehaut. I do think M was the last serial for them though. Rolex didn't start engraving all rehauts at once. I just remember I got my DSSD in 08 and there was a lot going on with Rolex then as far as models changing, serial issues, rehaut engraving etc. I'm sure I'll get corrected if wrong.

I had a V serial 16600 and it did not have an engraved rehaut. It's my understanding that none of the 16600's had the engraved rehaut.

That's correct and V serials were the last and many reported on forum but hundreds of them around.
