I should've acted after the announcement when a lot of people here offloaded lots of them.

DaytonaC assuming MRSP, no question. The SubC will always be available. I own both and love the Daytona more

If you're preparing for the zombie apocalypse, then Sub C no question. Otherwise, get the Daytona FIRST

The Sub is that deserted island watch for many. It really is the best choice if one can only have one watch. Or a GMT either black or BLNR.

Even if you pay $12k for a mint 116520, you're still saving $4-6k vs a secondary 116500. The ceramic bezel replacement costs probably wouldn't be much more than $400-500. The dials are slightly different, but not necessarily better or higher quality than the 116520. So, you end up paying a $3500-$5500+ premium for the same watch you have in a Green Tag (+ or - 2 sec) late production 116520. I'm thinking the 116520 is actually the much better value right now unless you have access to AD @ msrp

I assumed that Sub C for this poll could be 114060, 116610LN, or 116610LV and the Daytona C to be the SS white or black dial. If we're talking 114060 only, then my vote definitely gets changed to a black dial 116500

The 116520 is definitely the better value since it will appreciate just like every other SS Daytona and especially 15 years later when the ceramic excitement has died down. The problem is I want a white dial Daytona but I prefer the 116520 in black. The black ceramic doesn't really do it for me because of the lack of contrast. The white dial 116520 does look bigger than the black dial and looks fabulous in sunlight.

I'm on a couple of lists for the white dial so I will eventually have one @ retail but who knows what that retail will be. It's probably going to be at least a 3 yr wait for me unless I happen to get lucky. I would still pick it up even if I decide to get one now.

Well, I traded in my Sub for a DaytonaC so I'm a bit biased. Haven't regretted it for an instant.

I got into Rolex and ended up getting the Sub by first wanting the Daytona. Lovely watch, but some of its details put me off, the biggest being the tachy bezel, don't see the need for it anymore.

116500 is fantastic imo, BUT
The base is always a Diver, my N1 is a SD (116660/16600/116600 )

Sub out of these two. I'm not really a chrono person, so easy choice for me.

Daytona. I'm wearing a sub c as we speak but not much compares to a white dial Daytona C in my opinion.
