I Finally Did It - The GMTIIc
Just got back from the AD in town. Put a holding deposit on the SS GMTIIc that I inspected. Got a Free loupe too......... Spent just on an hour going over all aspects of the watch and asking a lot of questions and I am very happy........ It's an 'M' series too.
I am going back in two weeks to collect it..........it was not a display model and it went back into their safe......... The salesman was such a great bloke too and took his time with me especially being a newbie.... I forgot to take my darn camera as I was in a hurry today.......... Also had a look at their 'real' DSSD. Could not try it on though........What a huge piece of metal. Having said that I am going to buy a DSSD in 2009....... I just fell in love with it regardless of its size. The text on the inner ring is not at all that noticeable to the naked eye. Either that or my eyesight is failing. Well, I picked up the SS GMTIIc for 8% off the MSRP. Plus, when I'm ready to pull the trigger next year on the DSSD I was offered 5% off the MSRP. However, who knows that discount may became larger next year. Can only keep my fingers crossed on that one. Again, I cannot speak highly enough of the great customer service I was given by the Salesman at THG in Melbourne. They have won me over as I'll be back to see them again.............. I'll post pics of when I collect it in two weeks time............. Michael |

That is great news Michael. The next two weeks will hopefully pass quickly, but you know what it is like waiting, it might seem like 10 years
Anyway, you know it is there for you in the safe

Congratulations! As a GMT IIC owner myself, I can tell you from experience that you will not be disappointed.
All the details of the redesigned GMT including the Bezel, Case, Shoulders, Triplock crown, wider lugs, 3186 movement, new braclet and clasp are truly amazing. A classic you will hopefully wear and enjoy for many year to come. Wear it in good health.

Michael, congratulations!
8% is a bit stingy IMHO, you should haggle for more! BTW now you need to go get those polish cloth for your shiny center pieces, the ultrasonic cleaner, the end link removal tools. Things don't stop here |

Thanks for all the kind comments..............
Kai, I did haggle. When he came back again with the 8% off I was happy. I have been speaking with this same Salesperson for quite some time too. BTW it's not the first watch I bought there either.............I just believe in delivering the right sort of praise for great customer service.............. |

Thanks Dave. I just hope that I can some half decent macro shots when I bring it home in 2 weeks time. I've only got a Canon IXUS 60. Cheers Michael |

Hi Oscar,
In honour of your purchase I took mine out of the safe, counted the links, gave it a polish and wore it for the day. One of my favourites. Enjoy wearing it. eddie

Congratulations for your great watch
It is nice to hear that Rolex sales people take the time to explain all there is for such an important high dollar purchase... Wear it in good health ! |
