Help with winder settings for a couple of AP !
Just got a great 2.7 Wolf watch winder where I can customize the turns per day and direction. I'm trying to 'dial' in the most appropriate settings and any help would be appreciated.
I have the 44mm Novelty 26400RO with the 3126 cal. movement and a Rubber Clad 25940SK with the 2326 movement. I've had the novelty on a 350 turns per day bi-directional setting (so 700 per day) and it seems to be ok. However the rubber clad ran out of power reserve and stopped after a few days on the same settings. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated ! TIA ! |

Help with winder settings for a couple of AP !
In my experience AP's don't do well on winders. I'd forgo the use of them on AP's. Just as a side note I've talked to a number of watchmakers that just don't believe in the use of winders, just on perpetuals.

Hey "V" I hope that you're keeping well? You know my AP watches. They work fine on a Wolf. I set the left knob all the way to the left and the right knob onto the first stop to the right. The bidirectional works best, I find. I have it set to 600.

600 Bi directional ? Is that not 1200 per day in total....would that not be too much? overwind the movement ?

The orbita database says 800 bidirectional for your offshore so that would be 400 C. I've found that I just set it at the suggested setting but unidirectional (like 800 A) and then every now and then switch it to the other direction (like B). I've never fully understood why the setting would be half of it when it is bidirectional. But this way I'm less likely to leave it under wound

Any luck on this? I'm having the same issue with a rose gold rubberclad. AP says it's the watch and not the winder :(
