4130 movement question.
I have heard many independents are not willing to work on the 4130 as there are parts that are too fragile to work on. Therefore many of them suggest taking it to RSC.
Would you happen to know what this part is called and whether it's true that it's difficult to work on? Thanks

If you spent your hard earned money on a Daytona, why skimp on the service and go with an independent? I'd stick with RSC 100%

The stem. It's a very durable part. The part that watchmakers don't like about the Daytonas are the subdial hands. They break VERY easily when pulling them off.

Just go with an RSC or Vanessa (on this forum), who has experience with Daytonas.

A watchmaker friend with an RSC parts account recently told me that Rolex USA no longer provides daytona parts hence prohibiting service on Daytonas by independents. He said many watchmakers were damaging the 4130 during service. So only RSC if you want guaranteed parts and service for Daytonas. Your story seems to corroborate some of that.
