Sweet watch. I am thinking there will be a bunch that think the new one is too big and wish that that had bought this version.

Congrats on a beautiful watch.. loved what you said about the lack of instant bonding! I'd been desiring my DSSD for many many years, and obviously when I bought it it was a lovely, and I was chuffed with it, and I've worn it daily since - but it has taken a good few weeks for me to really 'love it' - only now is it 'my watch'.

I think I could tell when the bonding was complete because my previous daily wearer was an Omega PO Chronograph, and I wouldn't entertain the thought of selling it on - but now it's packed away in a drawer, and I'm fairly content with the idea of probably selling it on at some point

Congrats and great comments and pics!

My feeling is that Rolex is planning to have the new Sea Dweller take the place of both the 116600 and the Deep Sea and unfortunately I think that is a shame. I would have loved to see a variation of the 116600 with calibre 3235 myself. Maybe a Sea Dweller 4k Hulk LV would have had me begging my AD to be on the list. Given the choice though it would be the 116600 any day over the new SD for me

Congratulations! Great pics and well done picking it up sooner rather than later as I feel these will get more difficult to find as time marches on.

Thanks for the comments all.
I'd been wanting a Sea-Dweller traditional for many years, much more so than a Submariner. Although when I had a chance to grab a 14060M random for a crazy price, I certainly didn't hesitate.
So as soon as I found out about the discontinuation, I swore to myself I'd grab the next respectable 116600 that came up, while I still can for a respectable price.
This is actually the most I've spent on a watch by far, and also the highest (retail) value watch I've ever owned. But absolutely ZERO buyers remorse!
