Dings Nicks and Scratches...
After owning my brand new Sd4k for a little over a week its incredible how little nicks start to show up. I am by no means tough on my watches but I do wear them but I am surprised how quickly they developed...kind of sad but such is life.
I haven't done anything with it other than daily wear and I have been sleeping with it on, wonder if that's what it is...? I wonder if it's also the lack of chamfer on the case edges, that's where I see them. My 10406M doesn't show near the marks on the case edge bevels. |

Dings Nicks and Scratches...
It's normal. Not so much dings though (unless you band it onto something), but scratches and hair lines are normal.
I call that battle scars and they tell your own personal story with your watch. I find it adds charm and character to your watch so enjoy them. FYI I even make it a point at service intervals not to polish my watches :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Signs of enjoyment from wearing a fine watch.

It does suck. Especially since my 316 steel pieces don't ding and scratch nearly as easily.

You purchased it to wear, that is what happens. I used to be super careful wearing a nice watch, now I just do whatever and don't think about it. They do actually look better once they get some wear marks IMHO.

If you're a restless sleeper, you may want to leave it off at bedtime.
As much as I thrash around, that's what makes me nervous about sleeping with a nice watch on. |

Seriously, wear and enjoy like everyone else. Don't sweat the small stuff they can be polished anyway...after you get past the first few you'll stop caring anyway and hopefully forget polishing all together. Wear in good health, the sd4k is a great watch. |

My thoughts exactly. ..and they do look better with lots of marks.. there is nothing looks worse than a brand new watch with just one or two scratches, that looks awful.. once you get a few, it starts to add character.

Being 'classy' is not wearing a pristine, flashy watch. It's wearing an expensive but super-tough watch no matter what the occasion and forgetting that it's there.

Dings are not nearly as common as hairline scratches but it shows you are actually living a life with a Rolex on your wrist.

Wear it, enjoy it, look after it, but don't pamper it. You will have years of fun together, always remember the good times.

Just the slightest nick on the edge near 11:00...ho does that even happen. The camera makes it loose worse with the way the light reflects off it.

I used to baby my 114060 when I bought it Feb 2017. Not anymore. Just last week I was babying my BLNR I bought on Apr 2017...not anymore. They both have some signs of wear already.

I bought my white face 116520 last August and it's amazing how many little scratches are on it . Sometimes when the sunlight hits it I am almost taken aback.
But it's my watch and I love it - and I'm going to wear it. |

I'm on week 3 with my 114060 and I'm feeling your pain! I'm at a desk most of the day so the desk diving marks are driving me nuts.

I ran across a tech podcast a few years ago and the hosts were discussing whether or not to use a case on your iPhone. The host said something like, "One scratch looks terrible. But a thousand scratches looks like the Millennium Falcon."

Not sure why your watch is getting nicked up, I have had my Tudor BB on almost everyday for over a year now and no nicks on it. I would think your Sd4k would be made of a superior steel and should be able to hold up better than a Tudor.
