The SS Daytona demand works for Rolex, because it helps drive demand up the model range to more profitable TT and PM offerings.
If Rolex produced the SD with Red Font for one year, it wouldn't necessarily allow them capitalize on that increased demand after the fact. Regarding brand awareness, Rolex is already the most recognizable brand in the world, so I don't think that is needed either. |

PREDICTION!! I will forecast within 3 years there will be other dial, bezel and metal variants available that will render red writing irrelevant on the SD43
I know there will be much doubt and lots of "never will happen" thoughts, but things are changing and this will prevent Rolex from taking the subs larger. Don't usually like making predictions that can't be settled in a short period of time, but I did. |

Let me apologise for what i will say but there are too many wishful thinking examples here. Why do many people presume Rolex is planning policy to increase value of their personal belongings? It is a policy how to increase value of ROLEX as a brand. Did you ask yourselves why did Rolex moved just after 3 years of SD4000 to SD43? Surely did so not because of great demand, right?
And just to add that i already placed an order for SD43 not because i expect they will discontinue red hue next year, but because i like it. |
