Want to sell adds...lack of info...reason?

I've been a member here less than a year. I look at the classified frequently, trying to figure out what my next Rolex will be. I've noticed some of the folks do an outstanding job of providing every single bit of info I'd be interested in knowing. Others...not so much. Is there a good reason why folks don't divulge the date of manufacture? Or how much warranty if any remains? I understand many folks here don't do this professionally, but a little bit of extra info would go a long way in helping them sell their item. Thanks folks.

Agreed some ads could be better, however, date of manufacture is a guess anyway. As for warranty, unless there are papers that document the original sale there likely is not one.

As an occasional seller, I'll tell you that I try to do the best that I can with plenty of sharp, well-lit photos, an accurate description and all facts as I know them. No one knows date of manufacture. I'll always have an image of the warranty card, because that's important.

But hey, you're right, a lot of people don't have a clue, use crappy phone pics, don't spell things correctly and I am always surprised when they actually are able to sell their watches.

If you want to buy another watch, may I humbly suggest that you look at mine? (see below)

just like anything else, some people are better at it than others.

a solid ad, with a lot of info will likely net a lot more interest.

I have seen TV commercials that don't make any sense at all. And others are incredible.

Surprised this ended up in the non Rolex related topic area. I was addressing lack of specificity of info on adds concerning Rolex watches. Hope I didn't strike a nerve somehow. Anyway maybe some folks can see that it just helps with their sale if they include as much info as possible. I get that the exact date of manufacture isn't a hard date, but to narrow it down, or tell us when the warranty card is dated is of great help. Thanks to all that responded.

I'm thinking a no date Sub will be my next move. Now if I can just come up with a few more bucks to pay for it.........

Good points. I've bought/sold photography gear on a Canon forum and they had sell Templates. Sticky a post at the top of the sell forum for people to copy/paste the template. Maybe even closed threads that don't use it.

Your topic has nothing to do with Rolex watches. It's about buying and selling ads.
