Last PCL scratched by clasp Easylink
I extended the Easylink for the first time on my green dial YG Daytona and found the last PCL next to clasp scratched. Have had watch for 6 months and due to weather just extended it. Have others seen the clasp scratch the last PCL?
Thanks! |

Yes. It seems like it's normal wear. My PCLs all have some small scratches. I suppose some people are way more careful than me, but I wear mine as a working watch, so expect this.

18K gold is soft and scratches very easily.

All the time. I put a little clear tape on that link to minimize the wear.

PCL in general scratch very easily. Combined with the fact that gold is softer than stainless it was likely to happen

Same thing here on my BLNR. Came to realize damage occurs when removing the watch. Unless you pull the easy link straight down to unlatch, it will move toward the bracelet and rub up against the last link.
Also happens to the links closest to the case if you open the bracelet too wide and cause friction with the next links. PCLs are the devil. |

The only guarantee you have with PCL's is they will get scratched.

That's a good idea. I came up with a modified version of this.

Happens on mine as well. I'll get the bracelet polished at service. Doesn't bother me one bit and I wouldn't give up the easy link. It's a nice feature when flying from base in the cold winter to an overnight someplace closer to the equator.

Thanks to everyone! I didn't know it came with a built in PCL scratcher! I thought that was my job.

I had to start a new thread on this idea so anyone that searches can find it in the future.
Just a quick tip for totally eliminating any metal to metal contact between the links and clasp. This should eliminate any scratches since the easylink adjust in and out 5mm. As a byproduct it makes the bracelet when adjusting the easylink whisper quiet as no metal touches against them self. I used a "Rolex green" (or any color) thin felt sticker, cut in half and placed it on the underside of the clasp where the easylink makes contact. Cant even tell it on there. The felt stickers are usually used for the under sides of a vase to protect your table tops. Buy these in a pack of 30 for under $4.00. Just replace with a new one when needed. This is a simple idea but seems very effective.

Crazyness. Scratches are inevitable, embrace them, they make the watch "yours". I picked up a few the other day under the bonnet of the car, they look really good, i'm pleased with them. The more marks a watch has, the better it looks. Nothing worse than a watch with just one or two scratches on it, that looks bad. However, add another thousand and it all comes together very nicely. Stop being so silly folks. If you don't want marks then don't wear it. The operative word here being "wear".. wear is wear.. wear it and it wears. wear is good. |

I got 17 years of Rolex wear with this Bluesy. I wore it every day and dove with it for years. It doesnt look this good by babying it but rather taking care if it. A ounce of prevention.....etc
