This ROO look legit?

I did try on the ROO model below this week and really liked the look. Does the one below for sale look legit?

This would be my first foray into AP...Like the ROO and RO (15202/15300/15400) models (6.5in wrist)...just looking to buy right. I see ROOs take a hit and take longer to sell (i tend to flip).

Also has anyone gotten close to trusted seller discounts on a 15400 at an AD/boutique? Im assuming no discounts on a 15202.

TIA!

That ROO appears entirely legit. Cannot comment on price as I don't know the market for those.

I bought a 15400 black new from an AD for the same as trusted seller pricing and have since bought other APs at or below.

Walk into an AD. You'll be surprised. It's not like Rolex. They will deal.

(Not so much on the 15202, 15407 etc but on regular production stuff)

It's legit, but for almost the same price, you can buy brand new from AD

its legit.

Probably not the most popular opinion here, but if this is your intro to AP, i would recommend buying at an AD. If you want to go the non AD route, buy new only.

Servicing costs can be quite high, a 2014 watch will be coming on servicing soon and unless you personally know the watches history you don't know how the previous owner treated it. Nothing against this sales listing in particular, just my opinion generally. Servicing costs are fair in my opinion, but can be shocking to those not familiar with AP and other brands on that level.

9 times out of 10 when you see someone with issues with AP and who has become very sour on the brand are from those who didn't know a lot about AP before buying and who bought pre owned pieces that ended up having something wrong.

preowned AP market is best for those who really know what to look for and understand the costs associated with repairing/servicing.

Legit and agree with Tyler that an AP should be bought at least a few months within the warranty period if not new.

Thanks Tom and Jon,

($16K/$27K-1) = ~40% off MSRP...you saying ADs can get close to this discount...or are you referring to BNIB (v. 3yo) TS vs. New AD?

OCRolexGuy has a newish 15400 for $12.2K...which is ~28% off MSRP.

Is the average AD discount off these models 28-40% discount?

I walked into the BH Boutique, so dont expect to get discounting in that range, but if you can PM me your AD contacts willing to deal, I may go that route.

Thanks Tyler and Neil, If going this route, would try to further negotiate to offset the next maintenance cost...did look up service pricing online...seems about 50% more than Rolex, but will check AD pricing to see if there are discounts in range to current pre-owned prices.

Thanks again for the feedback.

You aren't going to get 40%. I think most people can get 20-25 and some can get 25-30 depending on the model.

I don't necessarily have a contact as I bought the 15400 after walking into Cellini in New York and negotiated on the spot. I paid the same price that the trusted sellers were asking BNIB at the time which was around 13k.

Obviously your going to want to deal with an AD, not a boutique.

The best value for APs is LNIB under warranty. I would hold out for that if you want closer to 35% off

Thanks for the feedback Tom. Not in a rush and this helps narrow the field.
