Yeah, I have had a double whammy with my watches. My DSSD has not been exposed to any vibrations, and has been sitting in my safe with all of my other watches, so unless I came near a magnet before I put it away, or unknowingly whacked it against something (doubtful), I am at a loss. I am surprised that no one has made a joke about getting it wet.

And no one said "a rolex can survive anything you can" (what about a 5 foot drop on concrete) in this thread

So leaving my 30 year old Rolex on a loudspeaker could magnetize it? It's running fast, several minutes a month.

Since January I have bought 5 Rolex watches. My wife's OP has been perfect. My YG GMT2 has been perfect. My LVC was perfect, but got a broken hairspring from running an old outboard motor-but it is fixed and running perfectly again. I have a BLNR that runs 3 to 5 seconds fast per day. And my DSSD has this current issue. I love all of my watches (I could never be a "flipper") but I have had a few "growing pains". The LVC incident taught me to be careful with vibration, The BLNR taught me that a break-in period might be needed for Rolex. This DSSD issue has me a bit concerned though. I thought being tucked away in a watch case with all his brothers would be a "happy place" for the DSSD when it was out of rotation. Maybe the Breitlings and Omegas beat him up

Sorry about the rough start to rolex ownership but i believe in the long run they will be a great addition to the collection.

My safe has a big axle on front of the door with 5 spokes sticking out that manually operates the 14 bolts in the door. If these large bolts were moved by an electromagnet, I certainly could see a problem, but they are manual.

I fail to see how advocating using an app for detection of magnetism is misinformation.

I was not referring to you.
I have this app and it it seems to work once calibrated.
